Bifo, Beyond the Breakdown

Hier staat een leuk stuk van Bifo van een jaar geleden: Hij haalt Burroughs en Haraway aan die stellen dat de evolutie niet meer aangedreven gaat worden door organismes, maar door virussen, door mutaties. Het woord dat hij gebruikt (en ontleent aan Haraway) is critters. "Critters do not exist as individuals. They spread collectively, as a process of proliferation." Bifo ziet daarom de pandemie als een 'revenge of the critters' - "The earth is rebelling against the world, and the agents of planet earth are floods, fires and most of all critters." The agent of evolution zijn de 'microflows of uncontrollable critters' - een proliferation 'without totality.'
