Articulation
Mooi (in het verder wat obligate stuk) van Badiou (hier ) is het gebruik van de term 'articulation.'

't Punt is alleen dat het virus juist geen 'articulation' is. Het virus is niet gearticuleerd. Het is een fragment code - RNA- maar (om het taalkundig te stellen) nog net geen morfeem. Het is eerder een suffix of affix - zonder onafhankelijke semantische inhoud. Daarin zit hem zijn virale aard.
Het is vergelijkbaar met de Lacaniaanse sinthome, stukje signifier losgezongen van elke articulatie. Alleen waar bij Lacan verbindend is (het is het vierde element dat betekenisloos is maar dat het Reele, het Imaginaire en Symbolische aan elkaar knoopt) daar is het virus destructief.
